International Certificate of Competence (ICC)
This is the licence required by a UK Citizen or Resident to operate a recreational vessel in overseas waters. There are two ways you can obtain this licence, the first is by simply taking a test of your ability and knowledge at a recognized ICC centre or more commonly by taking a course that provides training and finishes off with the assessment.
ICC Assessment
Sail or Power up to 10 meters or 24 meters.
A half day practical and theory test
Cost of Assessment £120.00) on your own boat or £250.00 on a school boat.
ICC Practical Power Training up to 10m
A 2 day course to learn the required standard of boat handling and theoretical knowledge. Expect some theory homework!

Successful complete ion of this course entitles you to apply for an ICC up to 10M
ICC Practical Power Training over 10m
A 3 day course on the school boat to learn the required standard of boat handling and theoretical knowledge required for this size of vessel. Expect some theory homework!
Cost of Course1 Person £600.00 on your own boat or £1680.00 on the school boat.
2 People £380.00 on your own boat or £960.00 on the school boat.
3 People £300.00 on your own boat or £680.00 on the school boat.
Own boats must be of a suitable standard and crew may be required

ICC Practical Sail Training up to 24m
A 3 day course on the school boat to learn the required standard of boat handling and theoretical knowledge required for this size of vessel. Expect some theory homework!
Cost of Course1 Person £600.00 on your own boat or £1440.00 on the school boat.
2 People £380.00 on your own boat or £795.00 on the school boat.
3 People £300.00 on your own boat or£600.00 on the school boat.
Own boats must be of a suitable standard and crew may be required
ICC Theory Preparation
A half or full day theory training session for those who already have the practical ability to achieve the required standard for the ICC certificate. If no theory knowledge exists at all it is recommended you take a theory course.
