The successful and proven concept of shared boat ownership is growing fast. It simply doesn't make financial sense for many people to own a boat outright - so for them sharing a boat with others in a syndicate is the smart way to own a boat. Imagine cruising the beautiful Canary Islands or exploring marinas among the Islands aboard your very own luxury sail or motor yacht.

How you find the yacht or motor yacht that suits your needs
Before you purchase one or more fractions in a yacht we help you determine which of our yachts best suits your needs. We offer brand new boats 12m and above with full warranties and nearly new boats.
Having found the yacht you require you can either join an existing syndicate or start your own for us to build if an existing syndicate does not exist. When the funds are in place Sea Master will use its buying power to purchase the yacht to your specification at the best possible price.
The yacht is then registered with the MCA with the owners names on the registration document in relation to the share purchased.
Sea Master will arrange delivery, moorings, insurance and equip the yacht with both domestic and safety equipment to your specification.
Excellent value for money
If your vessel is divided into 5 fractions. To become owner of one fraction you pay only 20% of the total value of the yacht and you pay only 20% of the actual annual running costs with Sea Master managing the boat through out the year.
The number of fractions is dependent on the purchase value of the boat, usually the more expensive the boat, the more fractions.
Example
A 20% share of a £350,000.00 motor yacht package will cost £70,000.00 and 20% of the annual running costs of say £3,000.00. (example figure only) this would give 56 days use a year.
Buy the fraction you really use
Each fraction gives you the possibility to use your cruiser for a minimum 56 days per year. Each owner receives a complete calendar for 3-6 years in advance. You always have the option of trading with another owner.
Approximately 30 days each year are set aside for service and maintenance with the remaining 42 days being used between owner changeovers or going into the owners pot for extra use.
How you receive you investment back
After 3-6 years the yacht is sold and the revenues of the yacht will be divided among the fractional owners. Because the yacht will be purchased competitively from new the re-sale value should be attractive at three years old especially as the boat will have been well maintained. Your personal depreciation is only relative to the share owned. It is also possible to extend the syndicates length of ownership at any time.
Accounts
Each yacht has its own bank account. All payments and deposits will go directly into that account and management and delivery costs are paid from this account. After finalizing the agreement, this account will become the operating account for the yacht. Shareholders will receive an annual audited financial statement.

We offer an all-inclusive "walk-on walk-off" service for our owners. All cleaning, engine checks, maintenance, refurbishment, repairs and vessel up keeping work is done for the owners by Sea Master. There is absolutely nothing to worry about - you just pick up your boat on the day you have it booked and return it. We will take care of all work associated with boat ownership even down to loading on board provisions and all at a pre agreed fee.
Sea Master will hand over and take back the yacht completing an inspection and checklist to ensure fair usage for all owners. (please ask to see a checklist) Â

FAQ's
Do I need any special licence or training to operate my yacht?
All share owners must have at least a RYA Day Skipper licence which can be obtained through Sea Master training centre. There will be special training on berthing, handling and operating the yacht so that you are familiar with the boat before you take it out for the first time. If required we can arrange a skipper to accompany you on early voyages.
How many boat owners are there per boat?
There are between 2 and 10 depending on the syndicate and size of yacht. Each owner has their proportioned cost and hence rights.
How often can I use the boat?
You can pre book your weeks at the start of the year, swap them if necessary and use 'left over weeks' for a small charge if required.
Can my friends and family use my share?
Yes, anyone can use your share but the skipper will need to be qualified. Either the user or hired skipper.
Can I swap a weekend with other owners if my allocated weekend is not convenient?
You may organize any weekend that you like as long as it is acceptable with one of the other owners.
Can I sell my share at any time?
Yes, your share is your asset and you can re sell at any time.
What extras will I need to bring?
Only Clothing, Sun Cream! and other personal belongings. You may decide to bring all the food and drinks that you wish to enjoy on your week away or we can provide them for you and simply charge them to your credit card.
