Sea Master Training Centre is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) affiliated training centre.
Based in Marina Rubicon, Playa Blanca, Lanzarote Sea Master offer a full range of RYA Sail Cruising, Motor Cruising and Powerboat training courses to suite beginners to experienced skippers.
Our Sail Cruising courses are one day longer than the average course giving you more training and time to learn. Our Motor Cruising courses offer great value and are taught on new boats.
In addition to the following RYA Courses we offer one day introductory 'try it' courses to all of the disciplines, please call for details and costs.

SAIL CRUISING
RYA Start Yachting Course
A two day starter course that is an introduction to Sail Cruising. This course is perfect for those wishing to experience sail cruising and learn some basics.
Cost of Course From €450.00 (£360.00) on the school yacht. Max 5 students.

RYA Competent Crew Course
A Six day starter course that is an introduction to Sail Cruising. Covering basic seamanship and beginners boat handling this is perfect for those wishing to experience sail cruising and learn the basics.

RYA Day Skipper Sail
A Six day practical course for those
wishing to skipper boats up to 24m on inshore passages during the day. The course teaches seamanship and yacht handling to the standard required to skipper a sail cruiser by day in tidal waters that he is familiar with. This course also entitles the student to apply for a International Certificate of Competence (ICC).

RYA Coastal Skipper Sail Practical Course
A Six day practical course. This course aims to teach the skills and techniques required to skipper a Sail Cruiser safely on offshore passages by day and night and is usually taken by people who wish to take the Yachtmaster Offshore Practical Exam.

RYA Yachtmaster Sail Exam Preparation Course
This course is for people who possibly hold the above Coastal Skipper certificate but require further training or a refresher before taking the Yachtmaster practical exam.
Cost of Course €720.00 euros (£575.00) on the school Yacht. Max 4 students and including the use of the yacht for the exam.
& RYA Yachtmaster Sail Exam.
We can arrange for your Yachtmaster examination to follow your Coastal Skipper Course or Yachtmaster Preparation Course.
Mile Building Course
A six day course including three 'Yachtmster Exam qualifying' passages over 60 miles. The course starts in Lanzarote, sails to the south of Fuetaventura and Tarfaya in Morocco before returning to Lanzarote.

RYA Helmsmans Course
A two day starter course that is an introduction to Motor Cruising. Covering basic seamanship and beginners boat handling this is perfect for those wishing to experience motor cruising.
Cost of Course €360.00 (£290.00) on your own boat or £700.00 (£560.00) on school boat.

POWERBOAT TRAINING
RYA Powerboat Level 1
A one day course giving an introduction to powerboating for those with little or no experience. Minimum age for the course is 8 years.
Cost of Course Per Person €300.00 (£240.00) in the School Rib.
RYA Powerboat Level 2 (ICC up to 10m)
A two day course covering both the practical and theoretical areas of powerboating. Time is spent on boat handling, theory, safety and seamanship in general. This course can be taken without having completing the level 1 course and the minimum age for candidates is 12 years.
Cost of Course Per Person €450.00 (£360.00) in the School Rib.
Successful complete ion of this course entitles you to apply for an ICC up to 10M
RYA Intermediate Powerboat Course
A two day course which covers the practical use of pilotage and passage planning by day on coastal waters using both traditional and electronic navigational techniques. A good standard of theory is required before commencing this course. It is recommended that candidates have undertaken the Level 2 Course and are in possession of a valid First Aid Certificate and VHF Radio Operators Certificate. The minimum age for candidates is 16 years.

RYA Advanced Powerboat Course
This course is carried out over 2 days and includes a night passage. The course is aimed at leisure and professional boaters wishing to undertake more adventurous trips in small powerboats. It will provide you with the ability to plan and execute coastal passages, including the return to a familiar port by night. As this is a more demanding course, it is recommended that candidates have a knowledge of navigation and chartwork to the level of RYA Day Skipper Shorebased certificate, have undertaken the Intermediate Powerboat Course, and are in possession of a valid First Aid Certificate and VHF Radio Operators Certificate. The minimum age for candidates is 17 years.

A half or full day theory training session to achieve the required standard for the ICC certificate if some knowledge exisits. If no theory knowledge exists it is reccomended you take a Day Skipper theory course.

RYA Introduction to Navigation
A 2 day course for beginners course covering basic navigation, ideal for those new to the water and weekend sailers/boaters alike.

RYA Day Skipper Theory
A five day classroom course for those wishing to skipper boats up to 24m on inshore passages during the day. This course is the pre runner to day skipper practical.

RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Theory
A more in depth five day shorebased theory course for those wishing to obtain the Yachtmaster Offshore certificate of competence. This course is the pre runner to its sister practical course.

RYA VHF-DSC Radio
A 1 day course with integral test to achieve a licence to operate.
