The RYA Day Skipper Course is a five day practical course for those wishing to skipper boats up to 24m on inshore passages during the day.

The course teaches seamanship and boat handling to the standard required to skipper a sail cruiser by day in tidal waters.

This course entitles the student to apply for an International Certificate of Competence (ICC).

  • Well Equipped Boat. Ask which of our yachts is being used and view it online.

What to Bring

  • Sun protection
  • Hat and strong sun screen
  • Trousers, shorts, sweater, T-Shirts, deck - or shoes with non marking soles, fleece for night sailing.
  • Medication & healthcare
  • Sea sickness prevention
  • CD's and DVD's if required
  • Mobile phone chargers 12v and mains power is available.

Remember that space is limited on a yacht and to bring a soft bag as we cant stow hard cases onboard.

Travel Day

  • Arrival day is usually Sunday.
  • Course fee includes 7 nights accommodation onboard.
  • Courses begin on Monday morning.
  • You finish sailing on Friday evening and Saturday is a free day to enjoy the island or to do whatever you please.
  • You have the option to include return transfers to and from the airport with your booking.
  • Private cabins are also available on request.
